Lune at Caton

The LDAA waters at Caton run from Barn Stream to the Crook of Lune.  This page links to photos to show these waters so that Terry’s pictures can be placed into a context.  This Google map shows the area.  (Barn Stream is just upstream of where the river, which flows from right to left, runs next to the A683.)

Please be patient – development of this page will take time.

Here are two older photogrpahs of Lawson Wood hut, courtesy of Mr John Gregory, showing his uncle, Eddie Houghton, with a freshly caught salmon.

The pool below Pipetrack Bridge (shown in this photo by LuneValleySnapper) fishes as a trout pool.  In higher water it fishes on a spinner from the Caton back (the far bank in the photograph) or in full spate can be wormed from the beck which flows in from about the point this photo was taken.

The bottom pool on the LDAA Caton beat is the pool below Penny Bridge (the road Bridge at Crook’o’Lune) shown beatifully in this photo by Graham Dixon.
